Am I A Candidate?

There are several benefits to using a BMI calculator for treatment options

  1. Tracking weight loss progress: After surgery, weight loss is typically rapid and significant. Using a BMI calculator to track weight loss progress can provide a visual representation of the success of the surgery and help keep patients motivated.

Gastric Sleeve

Input your height and weight above and reference the chart below to see if you are a potential candidate for Gastric Sleeve Surgery:

Gastric sleeve surgery is a popular weight loss surgery that involves removing a large portion of the stomach to reduce its size and limit the amount of food it can hold. Two leading authorities on bariatric and metabolic surgery, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), have issued new evidence-based clinical guidelines expanding patient eligibility for weight-loss surgery. These new guidelines recommend metabolic and bariatric surgery for people with a body mass index (BMI) of 35 or higher, as well as those with a BMI of 30 or higher who have additional health problems related to obesity.
