Amy is a San Antonio native and proud fourth generation nurse whose passion for healthcare began in high school and grew into a lifelong calling. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of the Incarnate Word in 2002 and was recognized for her academic excellence and leadership through induction into the prestigious Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
She began her career in the emergency department, where the fast-paced environment strengthened both her clinical skills and leadership abilities. Amy quickly stepped into leadership roles, serving as a charge nurse, clinical coordinator, and shift supervisor. Her desire to grow and expand her impact later led her to labor and delivery and women’s services, where she found deep fulfillment in supporting women as they began and grew their families.
Committed to advancing her education and broadening her ability to care for patients, Amy returned to school to earn her Master of Science in Nursing and became a Nurse Practitioner. She found her true professional home in bariatric surgery – a natural fit for someone passionate about coaching patients toward sustainable health, preventing chronic illness, and empowering long-term lifestyle change.
